The TV series The Walking Dead started in 2010. It is shown on ACM in the USA and on Fox International Channels overseas. It is based on comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. The series is set in an apocalyptic America where humans must survive nature, each other and “the walking dead”. These creatures often just called “walkers” are zombie like in their behavior and pose a constant threat to all survivors. Andrew Lincoln plays a lead role as Rick Grimes. Other lead roles are played by Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira. The Walking Dead has become hugely popular and when this is written there are nine seasons and a tenth is on the way.
