Transformers is a franchise that consist of toys, comics, TV series, video games and movies. The toys started to come out in 1984 and are made by american company Hasbro and japanese Takara Tomy. The franchise has been reformed several times. The first toys, the TV series “The Transformers” and the comic books by the same name are all today called Generation 1 (G1). Since then we have had Generation 2, Beast Wars, Robots in Disguise, Armada, Energon and Cybertron. In 2007 there was a series of live-action feature films started and there have also been an animated TV series called Transformers Animated.

Most of the Transformers chapters revolve around the civil war between two factions of robots from the planet of Cybertron. These are Autobots led by Optimus Prime and Decepticons led by Megatron. Many of their battles are fought here on Earth among us humans. Both Autobots and Decepticons can transform their bodies between their natural form and diferent vehicles. Optimus Prime for example transforms into a truck and Megatron transforms into a weapon.
