Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment were so excited by Michael Crichton’s book Jurrasic Park that they bought the rights even before it was published. Steven Spielberg became the director of the film project and in 1993 the movie Jurassic Park was released. The film is about a theme park where real living dinosaurs have been created by using old DNA from the time when the dinosaurs originaly lived. After the first movie we have had several sequels. The Lost World was released in 1997 and Jurassic Park 3 in 2001. In later years we have had Jurassic World in 2015 and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom in 2018. There is a sixth film in the franchise planned for 2021. Aside from the films there are also books, TV series, video games, short films and a Lego series.
