Donkey Kong debuted in the 1981 arcade game with the same name. He was then an antagonist but has since become a hero in most of the titles in which he starrs. In 1994 Donkey Kong Country was launched for the Super Nintendo and DK has since then had his own game series. The giant ape is also seen in the mash-up games fron Nintendo such as the Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros series. He is today one of the most beloved caracters from Nintendo.
