Crash Bandicoot was created in 1996 by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin working for Naughty Dog. The first games were then released exclusively for the Sony Playstation 1 by Universal Interactive Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment. After the PS1 era the Crash series has become multi-platform. Most of the games are platform games but there are also some racing games such as Crach Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing and also party-games sush as Crash Bash. The main protaginist is of course the mutated bandicoot that has given his name to the whole series. Crash often has help from his sister Coco and the magical mask Aku Aku. Against him there are a lot of bad guys as Crash tends to get into trouble, most notably the psychotic Dr Neo Cortex and the evil magical mask Uka Uka.
